For Clarinet and Piano
This is one of my earliest compositions, written when I was still a “young” trumpeter with the Naples Philharmonic.
I recall being out on a bike-ride, and this tune just popped into my head. I decided to turn it into a clarinet etude, and handed it to our then 2nd clarinetist, Ivan Garcia.
Later on, I added a piano accompaniment, which Ivan subsequently recorded.
It was also then recorded, many years later, by Chicago Symphony clarinetist, John Yeh, on an “all-Stephenson” CD.
