On August 12, 2022, Marie (Mimi) Tachouet (Lyric Opera’s principal flutist) premiered “American Portraits”, Stephenson’s new Sonata for Flute and Piano, with Kay Kim on piano.

The work was commissioned by the Chicago Flute Club.
