Early on in my “career”, I wrote a few pieces dedicated to my wife, Sally: a surprise string quartet, a violin/piano work, and “Walk Slowly” for voice and piano. I was taken by the text – “If you should go before me, Walk Slowly”. I knew we were in it for the long haul, so I had no problems dedicating anything or everything to her.
