Description
Strumba! (1994)
For string quartet
Duration: 4′
Strumba is not only one of my first compositions for strings, but is one of my first pieces as a composer. The title combines String with Rhumba, as the piece definitely has a Latin influence. It is a short and showy encore piece, written for my wife and her string quartet, when we were living in Naples, Florida. It is meant to be enjoyed on either a classical recital, or a concert of lighter fare.
