Ryan Anthony plays “Concerto for Hope” w/ Portland-Columbia Symphony
Mar 13 – Mar 15, 2020
Steven Byess conducts the Portland-Columbia Symphony in a performance of Stephenson’s third trumpet concerto – CONCERTO FOR HOPE – written especially for soloist Ryan Anthony.
The piece – per request – was written to tell the story of Ryan’s life, dealing with life before and after the devastating news of being diagnosed with multiple myeloma.
In addition to his professional solo and orchestral trumpet duties, Ryan has become a major force in a search for the cure, founding CANCER BLOWS, and becoming a passionate advocate and inspirational speaker for anyone affected by the disease.
